days in cafes 2

My latest cafe trip has been to the wonderful branch of Ole & Steen in Richmond for a chat with a coffee with my lovely mum. They are a Danish bakery chain with a huge variety of yummy pastries and delicious loaves of bread. Whatever sweet treat you fancy, they are bound to have it!

We had a coffee each and shared a carrot bun. It was light and flavoursome, just what we were looking for. The place was busy and bustling but not too loud. The area upstairs was a perfect escape from the tantrums of toddlers and yapping of puppies.

I normally prefer the intimacy of a cosy, independent coffee house but this is certainly a chain unlike any other. The Scandinavian interior with minimalistic design and cool colours is entrancing, unlike the basic decorations of a Costa or Starbucks. This meant that I couldn’t help but take photos of practically everything inside.

I also loved that they had magazines and city guides to flip through while you sat. I fell in love with pictures of Copenhagen in a small journal that recommended the best cafes, restaurants and hotels in the city. Now, I’m desperate to book a trip sometime in the future!ole 1 (2)

Have you been to an Ole & Steen? Have you tried out some of their pastries? Let me know!
